What kind of mandates does PharmaSync take on?
We work on cross-border life-science transactions – in-licensing and out-licensing, strategic partnerships, M&A, and NewCo formation. Each engagement is partner-led from the first call through close, with a senior team that stays on the file rather than handing it down.
Do you act buy-side or sell-side?
Both. We represent originators seeking the right home for a differentiated asset, and we run disciplined sourcing for acquirers and partners building a pipeline. We do not take dual mandates on the same asset, and we disclose our side at the outset.
Which therapeutic areas do you cover?
Our network runs deepest across Oncology, Immunology, Metabolic, Cell & Gene, CNS, Rare Disease, Devices & Diagnostics, and Digital Health. We are modality-agnostic, from small molecules through cell and gene therapy.

Engagements & fees

How are your engagements structured?
Bespoke to the mandate. We typically combine a retainer that funds senior diligence and outreach with a success component aligned to a closed transaction. Structure is set before any work begins, written into a single engagement letter – no fee table, no surprises.
What is a typical timeline?
Most mandates run four to nine months from term sheet to close, depending on diligence depth, counterparty count, and regulatory complexity. We scope a realistic timeline in the first conversation and update it as the deal develops.
Is there a minimum deal size?
We focus on transactions where committed economics generally range from $25M to $1B+. That said, the strength of the asset and the fit of the corridor matter more than a headline number – we are happy to assess earlier-stage situations on their merits.

Confidentiality & conflicts

How do you protect confidential information?
We are NDA-first. No diligence material, counterparty identity, or deal detail moves before a mutual non-disclosure agreement is in place. Access is limited to the named partners on your file, and information is shared on a strict need-to-know basis throughout.
How do you manage conflicts of interest?
Every new mandate is run through a conflict check against active and recent engagements before we accept. If a conflict exists, we tell you and decline rather than wall it off. We will not work both sides of the same asset.

Geography & coverage

Where are you based?
Cairo is our headquarters, with desks in Dubai, London, and Boston. One integrated team works across all four markets, so a mandate is covered through Africa, the Gulf, Europe, and the United States without handoffs between offices.
Can you support deals outside your four markets?
Yes. Our four offices anchor the corridors we know best, but our network extends across global pharma and biotech. Where a counterparty sits beyond our desks, we bring the right local relationships into the process.
Do you handle China-corridor biotech transactions?
We do. Cross-border activity with China is a distinct workstream for us, from asset sourcing and diligence to structuring deals that hold up across jurisdictions. Our China Biotech practice covers the corridor end to end.
